PROJECT DESCRIPTION
"The Anonymous Life" is an "internal monologue" in one
act. This
multi-media performance project is centered on a fictional
character named
Theo who eventually discovers his "gayness", although he is
married.
Symbolically this piece features representations (both negative
and
positive) of the "gay" existence. Theo along with his wife Sara
and other
supporting characters that symbolically run a fine line between
real and
mythic presents a poetic look at a man lost in his own
curiosity.
Technically the project combines the elements of movement,
dance, fashion,
poetry, and an original musical score all set to the tone of the
stage
action. This project with its both predominantly young cast and
crew of
color, presents a unique stage play that is stylish,
introspective, and
modern. All in all "The Anonymous Life" is a performance of a
life in
transition. Here we witness Theo withdraw from his "anonymous
life" into a
newfound world of self-acceptance.
