The paintings and drawings presented here in this exhibit are in many respects a
new phase both conceptually and techinically for my work . In concept, standard
American beliefs of racial identity and unabashed sensuality share an ambigous
coalescence. The figures represented in this series are symbols of either scorn
or change. Their existence often times appears private and intimate, allowing for
many associaions and assumptions to occur. Whether painted or drawn the central
subject(s) of each peice is accompanied by an aggregate of quasi-related found
imges. Overall, the work presented here is a "layered mosiac" of ideas as well
as processes that (re)represents the advertised image in a more thought provoking
light.
