Who we are
Founded in 2000, Apanamae Productions is dedicated to promoting and advancing the creative vision of visual artist and curator Ricardo Osmondo Francis. Now a registered New Jersey 501(c)3 Nonprofit, the company serves as a platform for artistic expression that examines race, culture, memory, gender, and the personal/political intersections of the human experience.
Ricardo’s multidisciplinary practice spans painting, installation, performance, and multimedia projects. Through his work, he archives and elevates underrepresented experiences, particularly within Black, Latino, LGBTQ+, and immigrant communities, challenging stereotypes and fostering deeper understanding of cultural identity.
Our Mission
Apanamae Productions strives to develop, present, and support contemporary artistic expression that explores racial and cultural identity while addressing the complexities of the human experience. Through exhibitions, multimedia projects, and community-based initiatives, we aim to:
Advance contemporary art that reflects diverse experiences
Elevate voices and stories often underrepresented in mainstream platforms
Foster dialogue around identity, culture, and social justice through visual and performance art
By bridging fine art, multimedia, and public programming, Apanamae Productions creates opportunities for meaningful engagement with communities, celebrating creativity and cultivating understanding across cultural divides.
