During Jersey City Pride Month, FADE TO BLACK and JC Takeover proudly presented Expressions II, a curated exhibition celebrating the creativity, culture, and lived experiences of Black LGBTQ+ communities.
The exhibition brought together an outstanding group of artists whose work explored themes of identity, resilience, love, liberation, and joy. Through painting, photography, illustration, mixed media, sculpture, and other visual disciplines, Expressions II created space for authentic storytelling, meaningful dialogue, and artistic excellence.
Guests also enjoyed a musical experience curated by DJ Byron James, whose mix of classic R&B, soulful house, and timeless dance music added to the celebratory atmosphere throughout the evening.
For Apanamae Productions, this exhibition marked an especially meaningful milestone as our first public event as an organization. We were honored to introduce our mission to a broader audience by showcasing original artwork, sharing information about our organization, and offering merchandise that supports our growing nonprofit.
More than simply an exhibition, Expressions II was a celebration of community—a gathering of artists, collectors, supporters, and culture-makers united in celebrating Black creativity, Pride, and the transformative power of the arts.
