PES Open Studios | Fall 2026

Project for Empty Space

Apanamae Productions marked another important milestone with its participation in Project for Empty Space's Fall 2026 Open Studios in Newark. The event represented the organization's official introduction to the PES community and provided an opportunity to share its mission, creative vision, and programming with artists, visitors, and supporters.

Throughout the afternoon, Ricardo Osmondo Francis welcomed guests into his studio, offering insight into his artistic practice, creative processes, and the ideas surrounding his work. The gathering encouraged thoughtful conversations about contemporary art, artistic identity, and the importance of supporting independent creative practices.

Featured among the day's special guests were Dr. Fatma Hamdy and Maria Luis Estrela, a distinguished mixed-media artist and curator.

Apanamae Productions also recognizes the contributions of Nora Khelifi, Board President, and Anne Marie Venezia, Director of Community Partnerships & Engagement, for their assistance in introducing visitors to the organization's mission and supporting the sale of Apanamae Productions postcards and T-shirts.

The organization extends its appreciation to everyone who visited the studio, engaged in conversation, and purchased artwork and merchandise. Each interaction and contribution helps support Apanamae Productions' ongoing efforts to celebrate identity, memory, culture, and community through visual art and public engagement.

The Fall Open Studios represented an important opportunity to strengthen relationships within Newark's artistic community while introducing new audiences to the work and vision of Apanamae Productions.
